About True Flood Risk
The basis for True Flood Risk derived from a simple question raised by company founder, Shelly Klose, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy (October 29-Nov 2, 2012): Why were some of the houses in her Jersey Shore neighborhood completely damaged while others were spared the wrath of the Superstorm’s rising flood waters?
As a property owner along the heavily affected Jersey Shore, Shelly wondered why her home sustained nominal flood water damaged while her next door neighbors lost everything on their first floor. Walking around her neighborhood, it was clear not every home was affected in the same manner. One house would be covered in feet of water while others were spared from destruction. Yet they all share the same site elevation.
Thus, True Flood Risk was born.
